Just back

Just back from our honeymoon in Antigua! What a wonderful island. If you're interested, it's jelly fish season, which I'm not a huge fan of. We had a great time, but I can think of better snorkling places, if you are into that sort of thing. I thought that the reefs were pretty close to the surface of the water, and I like to see them more from a distance... felt like I had to "suck in" to get over them. Took the 4x4 safari trip, and the Adventure Tour - both were a great experience with excellent tour guides - they knew so much about their island! I'll post pictures after we upload them.

Our resort - Sandals Grande Antigua - Penthouse with Butler Service. We went all out, and found that it was well worth it. If you are interested in information about Sandals - just shout. I'm happy to give review.

Christmas is November 21!!!!!!!

I can't get enough. The final trailer for Twilight was released yesterday and my colleague and I have watched it no less that 10 times already... November 21 can't come fast enough...

And, oh yeah... getting married in 7 days and 1.5 hours!! Can't stand it! Between Shawn and Edward, my head might detach itself and go flying away... I've decided to only take 2 Stephanie Meyer's books with me on our honeymoon, because I might get in trouble if EC compromises all 2 weeks. I'll be getting a divorce and the body won't even be cold yet.

I must admit though, with all the wedding stress and nervous, Twilight is a wonderful blocker of all things anxiety, and I'm happy that I found Bella & Edward at this particular time, they've been calming and enchanting at such a romantic time of my life.

Haven't posted in so so long... The wedding is a mere couple weeks - yikes, and I've been hopelessly addicted to the Twilight series. And I mean addicted. Not only did I get though 4 books in just over a week, I've got 4 other people on board, and I've started to read them again.

Part of the problem I'm currently having with this is the inability to focus on anything else. My poor fiance would have starved a long time ago if it weren't for the local diner, and the wedding has almost taken a beating just as bad! Really troublesome is the fact that I can't get into any other books right now. I read often, and nothing else is holding my attention. I've tried politics to Chiclets, and nothing will budge. And, I can't wait for the movie, my colleague and I watch the trailers almost every morning.

going green

slowly - i repeat, very slowly, we have been making little changes to our home in hopes to consider our environmental footprint. so, we've been buying the tote bags to purchase our food with, and turning up the air, and down the heat... but it's really hard to make a BIG impact. i'm not sure exactly what i'm trying to do, but i would like to think that we are doing our part, and i definitely don't feel that way yet. we are going to be putting in on of those instant hot water heaters, apparently they are very good, and next year i'm expanding my veggie garden, and starting a compost. what i really want to strive for is less plastic bags... WAY hard to do... they are really apart of every day life.

lets just say it's been a few hectic weeks... mailed the invites - yay! Had gina's wedding, picked up FI's baby pics and had the first fitting. also started back at the gym... my whole body hurts today. needless to say, there was an ice cream cone that finished off tonight - yum.

found really great gm gifts - i'm totally stoked about them! and already ordered the girls part of their present. just looking for a few odds and ends. i'm also so excited for a shower... i didn't realized i'd get so excited for it! i obviously have no idea when it is, although that doesn't stop me from asking FI frequently... it gets him all flustered; i don't really want to know when it is, its just fun to watch him squerm!!

took the day off today to hand out at my 'arents hours and be available for the window washers. it's a great dya out, perfect weather. I'd like to talk Shawn into happy hour at kaminski's but I don't think that'll happen. I am going to stop by the post office today and have my wedding invites weighed - yay! Wedding mail. Starting to feel nervous. When I think about actually sending them , I get butterflies.

Oh - awesome work related news... Our professional organization has an annual educational meeting, that my position is not typically involved in attending. So I submitted for a scholarship to the local chapter and was awarded! WooHoo! New Orleans in January! So I'm way stoked.

big wedding week!

I'm trying to take it easy this week, since the last two weeks have been crazy. We had my FSIL's wedding, then i had my own big meetings. We got a centerpiece from the florist - our mock up... so awesome. The only think that needed fixing was that it was a little too tall. If she puts it into a shorter vassal, it will be perfect. Then we took it to the mansion and picked out linens and chairs. We also went though and selected our menu - YUMMY. It's really going to be great. We also went through the timeline, and a 5 hour event was summed up in 5 minutes. :( Not so much fun to think about how quickly the day will go. That's okay though, I will make it a point to enjoy it all that I can! We are getting so excited as it gets so close. The best thing was to walk through the site and know how we are going to have everything set. It's all going so fast - its a shame that time doesn't stop for anything. I would freeze time now if I could.

all about the ugh

so tired!! Had a great time over the weekend at my future sister-in-law's wedding. Sadly had to work this morning - rough start to the week. But I had a great surprise when I received a phone call from my invite place telling me that the printer could not come through with our request (after telling us it was no problem), but offered to fix the mistake by giving us a great upgrade! Way to go Mira at the Paper Trail! Anyway totally made my day. I can't wait until they come in.

Our good friend was going to make them for us - she does beautiful work, but the forces that be took over, and we needed to go order them. Our hearts are with our friend during this trying time for her.

So I'm going to have to post how I need to get back onto my workout band wagon. I have to admit, I went to the gym and got some information on a personal trainer - someone to provide some motivation, and it just was way too $$$$$ for us right now. And I was pretty bummed that I won't be able to partake. Now my motivation is WAY down, and I have to get it back up. So I've asked FI to help me by coming with, and making our gym visits a daily event again. We will see.

brand new

I've always enjoyed keeping a thread of thoughts, and I thought this might be a fun way to keep them moving forward. I'm not too interesting of a person, and I prefer to keep it that way. I like simple things. To me, relaxing with my fiance on the front porch while the sun is making its way down is the perfect end to the day. Sitting on the beach while chatting about life with my mom is the perfect way to spend a weekend. I also like to do fun things - amusement parks and I get along extremely well. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do... and I love to travel all ways, by car, plane, train or boat. I love to be in the tropical weather, but there is truly nothing as beautiful as hiking to a hidden waterfall in Yellowstone that has fresh winter snow run-off.

Today, I'm working. A rarity on the weekend. I spend one quarterly in the city while I take care of our board members. They will be having lunch soon, so I need to go take a few minutes to check on them.
